What Is Wisdom Teeth Removal?
Wisdom teeth removal is the removal of the third molars, the last set of teeth that usually appear in your late teens or early twenties. When there isn't enough room for them to grow in properly, they can become impacted, painful, or push against your other teeth, which is when removal is recommended.
Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out. We use X-rays and, where needed, our on-site CBCT 3D scanner to see exactly how your tooth sits before recommending the most conservative option, so you only have treatment you genuinely need. If it can wait, we'll tell you.
If the idea of having teeth removed feels daunting, you're not alone, and there's no judgement here. At iCare Dental in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, our team takes the time to explain every step beforehand and goes at your pace, so you know what to expect and stay at ease throughout.
Your treatment, step by step.
Consultation
We take an X-ray or, where needed, an on-site CBCT scan to see exactly how your wisdom teeth sit, then talk you through the most suitable approach.
Treatment Planning
We talk you through what to expect, answer your questions, and agree on the right anaesthesia for you. No question is a silly one.
Removal Day
We remove your wisdom teeth in a single visit under local anaesthesia or sedation, whichever suits your comfort level, and we numb the area well first.
Recovery & Follow-Up
We give you clear aftercare instructions and check in on your healing to make sure everything settles comfortably.

Frequently asked questions.
Here is what people ask us most about Wisdom Teeth Removal.
Most wisdom tooth removals are done under local anaesthesia, so you stay awake but the area is numbed well and you stay comfortable. For more complex cases, we can talk through sedation so you feel at ease.
Some swelling and soreness in the first few days is normal, and we'll prescribe pain relief to keep you comfortable. Most patients find the discomfort manageable and improving steadily after the first 48 hours.
Many patients return to light activities within 2 to 3 days, though full healing of the gum takes a couple of weeks. We'll give you a personalised recovery timeline based on how your teeth sit.
A non-surgical removal is RM400 to RM500. A surgical case (for an impacted tooth) is RM1,200 to RM2,000. The cost depends on how many teeth need removing and whether the case is straightforward or surgical. A consultation is RM100, credited toward your treatment, and we'll confirm your quote after an examination. T&C apply. Results may vary by individual case.
Untreated impacted wisdom teeth can lead to infection, crowding, cysts or damage to nearby teeth over time. Not every case needs removal though, which is why we assess yours individually before recommending anything.
